Assistive Technology and Home Evaluations
The Illinois Department of Human Services (DHS) – Division of Rehabilitation Services (DRS) provides their eligible consumers with assistive technology services through a contract with IATP to help them meet their vocational or independent living goals. IATP ‘s provided services include:
- Assistive Technology and Home Evaluations
- AT Implementation
- Individualized AT training
- AT Technical Assistance
- Follow-up services
IATP’s Assistive Technology Specialists (ATS) provide services and support to customers at their workplace, home, or school. After a customer referral is made by a Vocational or Home Services counselor, ATS staff provide the requested services needed for the individual in order to identify the most appropriate solutions. DHS Division of Rehabilitation Services and Home Services counselors use recommendations made by IATP’s ATS staff to help determine what assistive technology devices and services may be purchased for their customers.
