Jan recently visited the IATP Demonstration Center to get ideas about what was available for people with Parkinson’s. She wanted ways she could stay up to date with friends and family via email and social media. Staff was able to show Jan a joystick and a large-print
keyboard that would allow her to easily navigate her computer. Jan could use these to stay connected through ergonomic, supportive cursor movement and an accessible keyboard with both large and bold keys for easier fine-motor typing control.
From Jan: “My world opened up all over again. So much is available and I can remain independent. All of the staff I worked with was so helpful and everyone went out of their way to listen and understand.”
